Fort Collins

Well...now I'm BACK in Fort Collins, unpacking everything, setting up my room nicely. I'm really enjoying it here for the most part, and it already feels mostly like a home to me. I'm still working on getting a job, and we'll see how that goes. Hopefully I find something soon.

I brought up my bed and dresser from Moab (which amazingly all fit in/on my car). So now I can really start unpacking and organizing things. I bought a bookshelf and a TV stand (along with an air conditioner...holy shit it was hot in my room last night; I barely got any sleep)...which means I can unpack books, movies, clothes, and all that good stuff. I set my computer up last night and I'm just trying to relax somewhat now.

Oy

Well I'm in Moab for a little while, visiting my parents, wandering around and finding more friends who are now married. Also picking up a bed and chest of drawers for my room in Fort Collins.

I should be all settled in by the end of next week, I bought a desk and chair...plus random oddities. I go back to Fort Collins on Monday, and I have a few job interviews the following day...hopefully I'll acquire a job soon. Wednesday I should most likely go to the DMV and get my Colorado driver's license, that should be frustrating.

Um...lots going on, but not much running through my head to write down right now. Later perhaps...

Fort Collins
(background noise: Random Computer Games in GameOn)

Well, I made it to Fort Collins. My trip was pretty boring, but I shall explain it anyway.

I woke up Thursday and packed the remaining things into my car and put my bike onto the rack (I left a few things in my room of course...*facepalm*).

I drove to Sherilyn's house and said goodbye, they were leaving for Texas/Las Vegas later in the day. I cried and continued back into town to go to Staci's house to say goodbye to her as well. However, on the way...an accident happened around two blocks ahead of me. I was the second person on the scene and called 911...everybody was relatively ok...just shaken up (even though on of the cars flipped and was completely crushed on top). Since I was crying and I ran over to one car...the first guy on the scene asked if I was ok...I said I wasn't in the other car and that the women were doing ok, just having neck pain. After paramedics arrived on the scene, I stuck around for a little longer then went to Staci's house, said goodbye to her and her mother and left for my trip across the country.

I drove through Raleigh, kept going and stopped in Mount Airy for lunch. Then I kept going and going. I hit a big delay in Virginia, taking an hour, perhaps more to go a total of four miles. I stopped in Charleston, West Virginia for dinner at a nice little coffee place then continued on through Kentucky. I decided to try and make up time through Kentucky so I made maybe one stop across the state. Interstate 64 goes straight across so it was a relatively simple and nice drive. I stopped in Carydon, Indiana my first night on the road in a horrible Super 8 Hotel...woke up with extreme back pain.

Second day...got on the road right after 9am and didn't stop until I hit St. Louis. I stopped to take pictures of the Gateway Arch, wandered around a bit, got lunch, and then headed out on Interstate 70...which would take me all the way to Denver. I didn't stop for dinner the second day because I was exactly using much energy just sitting in a car. For the second night I stopped in Hays, Kansas where they were having a Poker Convention so it was hard to get a room...I ended up with a smoking room at Best Western...that wasn't too bad actually.

Third day...once again got on the road at 9am and drove until Limon, Colorado...got gas and then drove to Denver and had lunch with Jason I. at IHOP. After talking a while and trying to figure out when we could hang out, I left and got on I25 to Fort Collins...I got to my house and unloaded my car by 3:30pm...

We went to Cheyenne, Wyoming for a few hours and then came back down to Fort Collins and went to sleep.

Today is a rest day, tomorrow is a lot of things. Call for a job interview, call financial aid at Front Range, get in contact with the lease people on the house, open new bank accounts at Wells Fargo again.

Anyways...I'm here, I'm ok, I'm tired but happy, and I'll be even happier when I have a few things settled.

Away I GO

Well...this is my last blog post before I leave for Fort Collins. I'm going to pack up my computer to avoid temptation since it will only slow down the packing process.

Lots of going away dinners and such going on. Staci took me to dinner yesterday. The CST going away dinner was nice along with my last CST Meeting (which I didn't participate in much...I rode the kiddy train in the park).

Last night was Sherilyn's going away/birthday party which was fun. Lots of pictures, maybe I'll put some up once I get to Fort Collins.

Most of my stuff is in my car already, just have to pack up a few more things and I'm set.

Well...I think that's it...see you in Fort Collins Saturday most likely.

Superman

Well Raleigh was fun, although it got a bit stressful towards the end. Everybody was about 15 minutes late in the morning getting to my house...course, that was fine. We had plenty of time and got pretty good seats for the movie (because we stood in line 45 minutes before and it was sold out).

Superman Returns was excellent, a lot of fun...although there could have been more to it, and I was actually wishing for more movie (despite the fact that it was already 2 and a half hours).

I leave in a week...woo...not looking forward to SO much driving. Goldsboro, NC to Fort Collins, CO...Fort Collins to Moab, UT, Moab to somewhere in Arizona, Arizona back to Moab, Moab back to Fort Collins...oy...

I need new adhesive for my Darwin fish...hasn't been back on a car since my Focus...and I think it's officially time to place it on the vehicle (the only other car here I've ever seen with one was the choreographer for Wizard of Oz, Ashley...she was pretty cool).

CST going away dinner tonight. Going to get Asian Bistro food with the people who are closest to me in the theatre group.

Tomorrow...Pirates of the Caribbean, once again probably a fairly large group, and a couple people who can't make it to dinner tonight.

Saturday...well...I'm not sure about Saturday

Sunday is the Ice Cream Social/last monthly meeting I shall attend for CST and then Sunday evening will be family time.

Also not sure about Monday.

Tuesday...hopefully moving dentist appointment to Wednesday so I can go to Sherilyn's going away party without having a face that can't move.

Wednesday...day, helping Sherilyn's mother pack up a computer, hopefully dentist appointment and recovery. Oh yeah...the packing of my own computer (last thing of course).

Thursday...leave, in the morning sometime...and get to Fort Collins next Saturday evening hopefully. If I go slow...then Sunday.

Week
Well...I have exactly one week left at work. Next Monday is my last day. Time flies when...well...time just flies unless you're depressed or extremely bored, course...I have had moments of both lately.

Tomorrow is Raleigh to go to the Exploris museum and see Superman on IMAX...woo! Then to a local bands show, then to sit and watch not so great fireworks somewhere...but at least the day is planned out.

Went to Moorehead City yesterday with the intention of seeing the "tall ships" (very large sail ships...pretty cool). However, I ended up not going to see any because of laziness and too many people...I just kayaked for a while and then swam around in the salt water...which was all I really needed.

Um...not much else

Meh

Just thought I'd take this opportunity to say that I'm never stepping inside a Christian church again. It just hurts.

No Raleigh today, took four days to find out if the other people could get off work...then when we finally compromised into a different showing of Superman...they were all sold out.

We have tickets for July 4th though...so, that will be nice and we'll be back here in time for anything else.

My departure date is getting closer and closer, not sure of my feelings about it. Of course, it is time to get away from Goldsboro I suppose.
