Careful Microsoft...you could be seen as a potential threat of monopolizing...again:

Your humor has an intellectual, even conceptual slant to it. You're not pretentious, but neither are you into what some would call 'low humor'. You'd laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist.

You probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. In a lot of ways, yours is the most entertaining type of humor.

July?

Yay for Kevin's beard...thing...come on Kevin, I could do better than that. However...I do agree that Kris makes cute grumbly noises...at least, from what I heard while on the phone with her sleepy self...for what? 20 seconds?

July has flown by, and I haven't even realized it. I still don't have the Merc...I have NO idea what's going on with that so I'm not even gonna think about it, if I can avoid it. Talked to my dad for the first time since...May? At work...told him to call back...never did. Wondering if my cousin John is gonna go on tour with Death Cab for Cutie again, since they have a new album coming out soon.

Ha...one thing that I had thought about before, but it hadn't really clicked yet. Last night at rehearsal I looked up and saw Shirley (the woman who played "mama" in The Homecoming) surrounded by the seven children in Sound of Music...not really an unfamiliar sight since she had, imagine that, seven kids in The Homecoming. Luckily...half of these kids don't have ADD, so it's a little more calmed down. Also...luckily I'm not the "older brother" for all these kids too...phew.

As I said, July has flown by...and is going to be over soon. June was there for me, July left...don't know what happened. Hmm...should I go see The Island or not...I hear good things, I hear bad things...good cast (mmm...Scarlett Johansson...plus Ewan McGregor not too shabby either), bad director (Michael Bay, bringing you such "quality" films as Pearl Harbor and Armageddon, blegh! even the cast couldn't pull that one off...although he did give us The Rock, but once again...I think that was probably because of the cast, or....really just because of Sean Connery)...perhaps if I have company I'll go see it.

PSP 2.00

The Japanese PSP 2.00 update is region free...so...I downloaded it from IGN and installed it this morning, can't wait to play around with the browser and the other new features during lunch.

Boss might be gone again today...would be nice.

New phone is working nicely...worked perfectly when on the phone for an hour and forty minutes yesterday.

I may join the choir at my grandmother's church. The choir director is actually the music director for Sound of Music and I stood outside the church for an hour last night talking to him, he also offered me like two or three solos...so maybe.

We start blocking Act I tonight I do believe...woot.

p.s. This is for Sean (Mesa Sean), however I don't know if he gets a chance to go to my blog much, if at all.

Phone

Got a new plan and phone last night. Still just a dinky little phone...but it's nicer than my old one and a flip like I said I wanted. I got a national plan on my phone as well, so...no more roaming for me, also free incoming and free nights and weekends locally after 7pm...w00t. However, the phone may have dropped one of the first calls I made, so I'm hoping the problem was on the other end...not mine. The number is still 919-222-7228 so...give me a call if you wish.

Did a full read through of Sound of Music last night. It's...a lot shorter than the movie, lol. Of course, we did skip through all the songs, and there are some parts that are mostly just stage direction. Tomorrow we're going to start running through Act I, and probably do some choreography at some point in the near future, which...is probably one of the things I'm looking forward to the least. Dancing...not my high point.

Boss in Chapel Hill today...basically just had to do monthly billing today, which didn't take me that long at all.

Bah

Tired...today's kind of a slow day, but stressful for some reason. First rehearsal with the full cast for Sound of Music tonight.

Janece got married Friday I hear...congrats to her...probably why I haven't heard from her for a while...ha. It's kind of weird to think of people my age getting married though...

I'm completely lost today...it's quite frustrating. Bit of anger at myself *facepalm*

Nothing Really
(background noise: Little Shop of Horrors - Feed Me)

Not much going on...lazy day at home. Teague and Courtney's engagement party tonight, w00t. Supposed to show up "festive" unfortunately I have no festive clothing and didn't really want to buy any...so...I'm going in my usual clothes...I'm sure I'll get crap for it from about 10 people, and then it will be fine...hehe.

Tomorrow...probably another lazy day at home, and then right back into another work week...well, time to get dressed and head over to Teague's.

Morning

You know you're tired in the morning when you try to make coffee without the filter...or the water.

That wasn't this morning, but it's happened before. I'm not all that tired, just...the morning makes me think of being tired. Boss is out of town today, hopefully that means I can catch up on some filing since (hopefully) I won't have a bunch of random crap to do...plus a bunch of other random crap.

Switched insurance companies, with the Mercedes it's a little more expensive so I switched over to Progressive...same coverage, better price...so that's good. I had to call them to get a quote though, because you can only get quotes for cars 1981 and up, since that's when Vehicle Identification Numbers became standard. Per routine, the guy on the phone had to ask me where I had heard about Progressive...I told him from about 50 commercials (almost as much as Gecko...I mean Geico). Plus I wanted to switch over cause GMAC are ass-holes (you know...those ones that have a nice exterior, but then turn out to be ass-holes), but I guess that probably is the same with most insurance companies.

I still don't have the Merc by the way...but I should be getting it soon. The Focus is long gone, and I hadn't been driving it for a while anyway, and I'm getting tired of driving around the loaner Saturn.

Payments on my student loan from Mesa just started. Would have liked to get it deferred, but since I'm not in any classes...that's not possible. Maybe in the spring I'll take some at Mount Olive, although that is a half hour drive...and I don't want to go to Wayne Community for anything again cause the people out there are just funky.

Strange dreams last night, George Harrison died in them....why must Paul outlive them all, even in my dreams. Oh well...there's still Ringo as well...but I rarely hear anything about him, except when he's hosting some history of rock and roll show on A & E or something. Woke up completely thinking it was Friday.

p.s. Just found out that Sony just announced it's new update for the PSP...which will include a legit web browser. Yay! Something that might actually make me give up my NES emulating rights on the psp...

Ugh
(background noise: Huey Lewis and the News - Power of Love)

The beginning of yet another week of...the same old thing. Work work work, sleep sleep sleep, boredom...hopefully a glimpse of Sherilyn here and there.

Interesting happening today. This girl named Renada, well...she's one or two years older than me actually...I met her on myspace.com long ago. Soon after I moved here. We talk a bit online, she called me like...twice, and we were supposed to meet along with some of her friends at a club in Greenville one night months and months ago. However I chickened out and went to Barnes & Noble to get some coffee and read (since...that's definately more my thing as opposed to going to a club). She lives in Tarboro, about an hour and a half away, but...is moving to Kinston which is much closer and is looking for a place to live. She's going to look at a place sometime this week and...wanted me to tag along, and is asking me to be her roommate...odd for someone you've never met. I was recently thinking about trying to get an apartment, but a female roommate had not cross my mind, plus...it would be a few more months before I could really do it anyway. She offered the opportunity of crashing at the place until I was more "on my feet." Which...once again is pretty odd. I guess the only thing that remotely makes this not too strange is that she's not interested in me...and I'm not interested in her...in any way more than a friend. I really doubt that I will show more interest in moving out...although I want a place out away from family and to do that I would need a roommate, it would be just strange moving in with some person I don't know, let alone someone of the opposite sex. Course...the sad thing is, out of anyone here that COULD be a possible roommate, she's probably the best one...doesn't seem annoying, she sounds like a partier though. I just found it very odd and thought I would give my thoughts on that. Of course, honestly...if the price was right...it may actually be something to try...but there are a lot of unknowns in there.

I'm most likely going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Sherilyn tomorrow...w00t! What could be better, movie that I've been looking forward to for ages and the best girl ever.

Had first rehearsal for Sound of Music tonight...course, mine only lasted a half hour and we went through the song a few times, next rehearsal is in a week...course, once we get the books...things will start picking up. Kind of strange that Leisl is basically flirting to me online constantly now...oy vey.

And...that's all for the night.

Nighty Night
(background noise: Coldplay - Talk)

Freakin' awesome keyboard hopefully released in 2006 right here.

Went to WalMart for various supplies...waited in line FOREVER as usual...however this time, there was circus music playing over the intercom.

Didn't get to hang out with Sherilyn tonight :( Did watch The Jacket, however...which turned out to be quite good besides being a bit slow moving. Had a nice relaxing happy night...so it's all good.

Had a nice incident with locking keys in the car at the movie theater and walking home last night...*doh*...that's what I get for being distracted. Speaking of the theater, I still need to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Anybody want to get me a present?

Phew
(background noise: Beck - Girl)

I thought today was going to be kind of relaxed...what with my boss being out of town and all. I was mistaken...shortly after going to the post office I was required to go out to his new house and wait with his wife for the Cable Guys...but they arrived early, which didn't give me an opportunity to finish some other things. I nearly blew up at my boss twice on the phone...I'm starting to wonder what would happen if I did, hopefully I won't find out though.

The Focus has been sold, paid for, and is gone. There is promising news on the Mercedes. The correct part has been ordered, molding has been found, carpets have been finished and seats have been completed. The windows should be in on Monday, hopefully having the rest shortly follow. The last thing remaining would be an inspection and then...mine. Unless some other setback happens I should have it Wednesday or Thursday.

I like this song, I remember listening to it while driving around thinking about Wizard of Oz and Sherilyn...so it reminds me of her. Found out Beck just released a video for it...which I am trying to watch a decent quality version of. If I ever drive down to the beach again...this will be my "down to the beach" song for sure; although, I'm not sure why.

Told Lisa last night that's she's the only one I can tell everything...which is true, and she's the only one that I have told...I think everything, lol. I don't feel embarrassed or afraid to tell her anything cause she's my sis separated at birth :P and oddly enough...usually agrees with anything I do, even if I don't. Thank you Lisa!

My rehearsals for Sound of Music start on Monday, I'm both looking forward to starting a new production and dreading it as well. I hope to see what Cathy and Deanne saw in Liesle...but in the meantime I'll try and be pleasant old me always up for the challenge. It will also be nice to sing again.

Kevin...stop trying to get me to move to Denver, lol...you know I want to...but I don't at the same time and I'm trying to follow through somewhat on things here. Move here Kevin! but...you have the same answer basically. I hope you and Zack can work something out, if not...I hope you can work something out on your own. Give Asher my congrats again and a big hug for me if you see him.

I'm gonna work on getting a new phone soon, mine seems to be having worse battery life and worse signal than it did a year ago...plus, the whole wanting a flip-phone thing. That's the ONE thing bad about US Cellular, they don't have a lot of great phones...but they're service is great.

Um...those are my updates for the day, I might post again over the weekend, I may not. I've been happy most of the week and I know exactly why. Regardless of a few hurdles I've been jumping over involving many things.

A Year...Nearly

I've remembered in the past few days that I've been in North Carolina nearly a year. My trip back in December allowed me to see friends...but this still means I haven't seen Kevin, Zack, Lisa, Sean, Jason I., Jason K., and Becky among other people in around 7 months. I haven't seen Kassi or Ben for a year (although Kassi would rather not see or hear from me), haven't seen Joel or Adam for way over a year, plus countless other friends (that I may or may not want to see, or...who may or may not want to see me). I'd like to make a trip back out to see friends, but I don't think I'll be able to until at least October. I may just shoot for Thanksgiving, or an actual Christmas trip this time. Adam! Kevin! Ben! Zack! Make a trip out here if you ever can! And Kevin...the road trip is always an open invitation...as long as it's after September now.

I'm glad I moved here though. Although there are times where I am very lonely, sitting in my room...realizing there's nothing to do and that most of my friends are 2000 miles away. Overall I've had a great time while I've been here. Met great people in the theatre. Not to mention having a great time singing and acting with the theatre. Kept a steady job and learned a bit about earning money...although I still need to work on that one a lot. I have few friends here, but the ones I do have are amazing, ranging anywhere from age 5 to 80.

Of course, I've had my run-ins with...interesting people while I've been here as well. Experienced a 1st grade hissy fit from a 22-year-old girl during Halloween. Had one person call me at anywhere between 1:30am and 5:30am when I had work in the morning multiple times and just...talk and talk...and talk. I've heard bad jokes, I've heard good jokes...I've heard all of them over and over. And I've learned how to make a few people laugh instantaneously...always a great feeling. I've been come onto by younger and older women (though...I'm hoping most are just joking when they are).

Lately I've found it hard to keep up such a good image in the eyes of others though, rarely during my time here have I been myself...other than on stage, occasionally with my fellow thespians, and with only a couple of those few friends. I'm trying to keep the high image...but let it slide a bit. Of course, if I really wanted to have a good image among the family and some members of the community here I'd be going to church, but there's a line I drew there long ago. I just hope I can keep behaving myself, haha, but I'm sure I can (role-model role-model...bla). It's hard being 20 and trying to feel at home with 40 year olds and then turn right around and try to be comfortable with high schoolers. I gotta be careful around the little kids though, hehe...cause although they have a great time with me, and I have a great time with them...I usually get myself in trouble for making them laugh too loud and run around with me.

Tonight a year ago was my final night in Moab, early the next morning I was off to Grand Junction with my parents and with a farewell I was on the Greyhound to Denver, and 3 days later...on the plane to Raleigh.

Now I'm here, I have amazing people surrounding me...who I hope also enjoy my company. And I expect to continue as I have for the past year...with a little more knowledge, and expect to acquire a little more knowledge for next year.

Now if I can just avoid getting sick for opening night for once...we'll be set (Tonsillitis during The Homecoming, luckily nothing during The Man Who Came to Dinner...but Staci took my place with the Flu that time, and I have a pretty intensely high fever during the last dress rehearsal of Wizard of Oz...of course also being the first night I had on that horribly hot costume).

p.s. It would be odd if I ended up actually receiving the Mercedes on the 21st...considering that's when I got the Focus last year...we doing a lot of year anniversary things here...

Hmm?

Trying to figure out who would call me at 12:50am last night...the number is blocked from my caller ID. And wondering if they'll call me back...at a time...other than 12:50am.

Been watching a couple sketches of Monty Python's Flying Circus...it's been a while since I've had a chance to.

May actually have my car this week...I've said that before though, so no promises.

Off to work I go.

Sound of Music: Final Update...for now

Well, last night was the first cast meeting for The Sound of Music, I agree with most of the rest of the casting...a few odd choices, but it all works out. That said...I didn't find one person who agreed with the casting for Liesl, besides...Liesl of course. Cathy and Deanne (Director and Assistant Director) said that she showed talent and rose above the competition, but we'll see.

Teague (Assistant Director for Wizard of Oz) and Courtney (was in charge of the Herman Awards) got engaged over the weekend. Another marriage brought together by Center Stage Theatre. They're having an engagement party later this month that I will most likely attend.

After the CST monthly meeting and first cast meeting (or rather the...get your measurements meeting, which...a lot of us didn't need to do since they still have those from Wizard), I went to Torrero's (decent Mexican restaurant) with Sherilyn and Ana...course a lot of other people from CST came too...but...yeah. Teague came by, invited us all to their party and mooched food off of us cause he didn't make it to the restaurant until after the kitchen was closed. We left...I complained to random people about the casting of Liesl.

We don't know when rehearsals are...we don't even have books yet, and hopefully we have a location to perform after tonight.

Well...off I go to the Post Office and to think of Sherilyn all day.

Sound of Music: Third Update
(background noise: The Von Bondies - C'mon C'mon)

Apparently casting for the part of Leisle in The Sound of Music may have not been based on talent. The musical director's daughter got the part...she's as tall as me, so that'll be a bit odd. So...I have my suspicions.

I know I was bias in the fact that I wanted Sherilyn to have the part, but I wouldn't have been mad as long as someone with some amount talent got the part, but with this...it's the first casting by CST that I don't agree with.

Tomorrow night is the first cast meeting, and the monthly CST meeting.

...on a lighter note: We had Sherilyn's surprise birthday party last night, she was... surprised to say the least. Mostly had a good time, although felt out of place with most of the people there (mostly age wise I believe). We stayed up and watched scary movies...The Grudge was actually better than I had expected. Steffan...you will be pleased that she thoroughly enjoyed the Mashimaro bunny that I bought for her while in Philly.

I'll post again tomorrow night after the cast meeting to see if there are any other reasons I should consider backing out of this production, if I backed out on the part I'd still want to work backstage though...I need some more backstage experience.

Sound of Music: Second Update
(background noise: Cake - No Phone)

I am Rolfe, as suspected...don't know who got what other parts, I will find out Monday at the first meeting (this is the third part I've gotten that I have predicted correctly...Clay-Boy in The Homecoming being the only one that I didn't make a prediction on). I'm not very good at predicting other people's parts though...so I'll wait until I know for sure to say anything. I'll try to have the song that I have to sing in this one on my next post too...

p.s. So much for sleeping in too much today...I got the call for the part at 9:15 this morning.

Sound of Music: First Update
(background noise: Tears for Fears - Head Over Heels)

Call-backs for The Sound of Music are tomorrow night...I got a call-back...imagine that. There were only around 8 males at the auditions in total from both nights. Thankfully some older ones showed up the second night, cause the first night I was the oldest on there (even though it would have been interesting to be able to play one of the older parts after some nice make-up). Sherilyn got a call-back too...which I'm very happy about, I really hope she gets to be Liesl...she just needs to work on that confidence, and if she gets the opportunity I know she can show how good she really is. Of course...everyone says that I want her to have that part cause I would be able to kiss her on stage if I get the part of Rolfe (you know, people bugging me...in that really annoying way), but that's definitely not it. If it meant she would get the part I would back out of the show completely, or take some crappy little extra, or work back-stage. Although...I haven't kissed anyone on stage yet.

I'll post again when we know parts. Tonight's just kind of a relaxation night. Although I don't really need it yet, but I guess...any chance you get eh?

Fantastic 4 starts tomorrow night, that's the next movie on the list...and then Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes out next weekend...WOOT! (the rarely used non-sarcastic woot).

p.s. I love 80s music...it's actually what brought me out on the dance floor at the Herman Awards, after many failed attempts by people literally dragging me onto it, or attempted to pick me up.

July 4th

July 4th was an overall OK day. Sat around for most of the morning doing absolutely nothing (much like the rest of my weekend). Got to talk to Sherilyn on the phone for about an hour, then she had to leave to go on base to watch the fireworks with her family. Soon after, Staci's mother gave me a call and asked if I wanted to join then for dinner and fireworks...so I jumped on the opportunity to do anything. Picked up Ana, met her father...who speaks very very little English, but he greeted me with a handshake, later on a punch on the knee saying I was good (at singing I assume), double high-fives, low-fives, and a good goodbye. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all around their family and a few friends speaking completely in foreign language while sitting and waiting for Ana (maybe I've had some practice since for the last couple weeks I've been around Sherif's wife and her mother a lot during their move...English was rarely used and it was mostly her and her mother bickering in Arabic). I listen to other languages and I'm intrigued, although...I don't think that I could ever become very fluent in another language unless I lived somewhere without any English for a long period of time. Ana's family is cool, as long as they don't think I'm trying to date Ana...I'm fine, lol.

We watched part of Sound of Music at Staci's, then went out to watch the fireworks. We were joined by Cathy (director of The Homecoming and former CST president). The fireworks were...pitiful, hehe. The fireworks in Moab were about the same quality...and Moab is about a fifth the size of Goldsboro, if not less. We went back to Staci's and played a game of Scrabble...which I unfortunately lost, course...most of my time was spent trying to get Staci's little sister to win. I then took Ana home, took myself home, and eventually went to sleep.

Auditions for Sound of Music are tonight...and that's about all I have to say.

*Sigh*

They ordered the wrong part for the car...again....

No movie last night, boredom. I really need to work on not getting my hopes up for things, and then overeacting once it doesn't work.

Taking care of my aunt's dogs again for the weekend...since everyone else has something to do involving the beach.

Auditions for Sound of Music are Tuesday, July 5th. Need to watch the movie so I have somewhat of an idea for characters, not to mention to refresh my memory of the songs.

Work is pretty boring today, no one in the office. Sherif has moved into the new house, still has work begin done of it.

I'm very glad that theatre is starting up again, it will distract me from idiotic things, but still keep me focused on others.

I'm definately doing baked spaghetti for lunch today, finally found the number of the little Italian place downtown.
