SFAI
(background noise: The Last 5 Years - I Can Do Better Than That)

Well...update on SFAI, I got my "Revised Award Letter" since sending in the financial aid appeal form. They gave me...another $2000 a semester in grants. So that would mean that all my grants/work study would almost cover tuition for the year (leaving about $800 on tuition + housing & food per semester). So...yeah...I just called financial aid and I'm going to see if I decided to defer until the Spring semester if I would still get that semester's financial aid. Would give me time to get on my feet, realize a few things, and save some money (not to mention look for other means of acquiring money). It's a long shot, but...it's still a shot.

p.s. Sherilyn is back in town, called me during lunch today. Perhaps go see War of the Worlds with her tomorrow.

Plans
(background noise: Jamiroquai - Canned Heat)

I think that what I'm going to do is just keep going as I have been...since, that's the only option. Other things will present themselves and I'm not too freaked out about it. The applications for Fall 2006 will become available in August for UNC and hopefully a few other schools in NC, I'll get my applications in as early as possible, and maybe leave out the fact that I even went to Mesa...considering the only reason you mention an institute you attended is to get the transfer credit, which would be useful...but not if it's just going to prevent me from getting accepted to the school. I'm also going to check what other schools around have an art department based on a portfolio.

Auditions for Sound of Music are July 5th & 6th. I'll look at still making it out to Denver the week after that if possible. Since Kevin can no longer do the road trip idea, I'm looking to see if anyone else would want to (that means you guys...come on, let me know if you can). Otherwise I may fly out. I'll even keep an eye out for a good job and see if anything catches my eye...but I'd have to have some pretty good luck and the chances are pretty far out that I would move to Denver right now. Perhaps after looking at all my options here.

Sherilyn should be getting back from Texas sometime soon, so I hope to hear from her...soon.

p.s. Thanks Jason

Updates
(background noise: Depeche Mode - It's No Good)

Organizing files on my computer in preparation for a complete format; I've had this weird pop-up virus/spyware thing for a while that won't seem to go away no matter what I do. I can't play any games, which...I haven't really tried to anyway...but now that Battlefield 2 is out I'd like a computer in tip-top shape so I can measure it's performance on a new game.

The Mercedes is now in my grandfather's warehouse, they should be putting the gasket in tomorrow. It's still highly doubtful that I'll have it by Saturday.

New downloadable content for WipeOut Pure on PSP, two really good tracks. You can now run emulators on the US PSP with the 1.5 firmware, which means...all the NES, SNES, and Game Boy games you can handle...ultra portable.

Gonna cancel my Blockbuster movie pass soon, I may sign up for their online version so I can get copies of movies that are a little more rare (plus the fact that it's cheaper)...and it has two in-store rentals a month, so I still have the option to run in there and grab something if the emergency appears.

Don't think I'd ever heard this Depeche Mode song before...it's good (not un-good like the title suggests).

p.s. Just found out that blogger offers FTP upload to my server on the Posting page...which will prove to be very useful.

Strange

Hmm...sitting at work waiting to go to my boss' house to disassemble his sound system for his move. Strange the ways of my job are eh? Today is the first day I've ever been in a t-shirt at work, the only other time I've been "dressed-down" was when I had to drive to High Point (three hours there...three hours back) to pick up a desk, I saw no point in being uncomfortable when driving that distance...I think that's all I'm gonna wear until my boss is done with his house, since my nice pants and shirt have been attacked by cobwebs, brass polish, dust, dirt, etc...

Looking forward to the Herman Awards...other than that, nothing is really going on. Found out my friend Ana is back in town...I found out when she literally ran down the isle and jumped onto me at WalMart last night, she's a comical one.

We'll see what goes on with the trip to Denver, if I can do it at all. I'll start looking into it next week, and once I have the new car, which hopefully will be before Saturday...it would be nice to show up at the Hermans in class...unfortunately I doubt it will be ready. At least they actually have the gasket for the rear window though, which was what we were waiting on...then just have to replace foam in the seats...then it will be done.

Um...nothing
(background noise [in my mind]: The Last 5 Years - The Next Ten Minutes)

Nothing going on...had a going away party for one of the theatre people on Saturday night. Her daughter was one of my favorite munchkins and was in The Homecoming with me as well, this is her.

I'm not actually listening to the above song, since I'm at work...but I've been listening to it (and the rest of the sountrack to The Last 5 Years) in the car and this one just happens to be the one running through my mind.

Yesterday we had rehearsal for the Herman Awards. I know the dance pretty well now...we have one rehearsal on Saturday morning, and then the show is Saturday night...so wish me luck with dancing/singing/hopefully winning award(s).

If stupid people will order a part, I will have my car this week sometime.

It's nice today, the sun is out...but there's a cool breeze...so it's not like last week's broiling heat. Hopefully it stays like this for the day. Gah...weekend was too short, and I barely did anything the entire time. Sherilyn will be back in another week...so hopefully I'll hear from her.

p.s. Question for anyone familiar with html/rss feeds etc...How do I link an RSS feed onto another page? I want my little blogocide mobile site to update with the RSS feed for my blog...any input?

Hmm...dunno
(background noise: The Last 5 Years - Shiksa Goddess)

Woo! I got my cd and book for The Last 5 Years...which I've been listening to since 5pm today. Trying to learn the song mentioned above, which is working out.

Boring night...another one of those emotional catch up nights, kinda...just...mad, but it's already passing.

Um...unfortunately not much else to say. Enjoy the song!

Oh...and I believe my car is sold. Found part for the rear windshield of the Mercedes, should have the car next week. Until then, using my aunt's little Saturn I mentioned earlier.

Oy
(background noise: UPS Truck?)

Sitting at work...nothing to do. Need to find the payroll file for this company so I can make some copies...don't know where it is though. Sherif may have moved it somewhere since the company has shut down now. I'll look again in a sec.

My grandmother's birthday is coming up, we're all going to the beach on Saturday. Have to get a card and think of a good present, besides flowers...she loves them, but always complains about being allergic, lol...and she always gets a ton of them.

Someone's been lying about their age to me...that's not good, but oh well...no use getting mad (no, not Sherilyn...I believe people reading would automatically assume that it would be her, but no it's another friend here).

Need to go see Batman Begins, I've been hearing good things and I like Christian Bale...plus it has Gary Oldman in it, who is one of my favorite actors.

Still working on selling the car, gonna show it to someone during lunch today. Going to have to take a little longer lunch so I can clean it out a little...I have all my stuff for the Hermans in there, and apparently Brian drew a pentagram in the dust and dirt on the top of it...damn wiccans, lol.

Wa?

May be able to sell my car...have to get the A/C working in it though. Got an offer on it yesterday, I'm gonna call the guy back after the Ford dealership is done working on it and see if I can get the amount I want though.

Ha...funny story, I took the car into the dealership this morning to have the A/C checked out, called soon after to make sure they were going to call me before doing any work that I would have to pay a shit load for, the guy on the phone said that the car has four recalls on it *insert weird Three Stooges sound here*...I knew of one, which had to do with a battery cable, but there was one dealing with the fuel injector apparently. Glad I took it to the dealership instead of the idiotic shop my grandfather always tells me to go to, otherwise I would have never known about those. However...I have no car today, so I'm hoping they're going to be finished with it by 5:00.

Still no word on the Mercedes, they have to get molding around the windshields now. Don't know if they have the rear-windshield in yet or not, but my grandfather is getting really mad about it...and if I sell my car...that kind of leaves me without transportation. I think I could use my aunt's little backup Saturn though.

So...no car for the day, but luckily, my favorite lunch place is right across the street, so food won't be a problem.

Oh...I finished my application for ECU yesterday. Called Grand County High (I always dread calling them for some reason) to get my transcripts and SAT/ACT scores sent. Already faxed Mesa about have my transcript sent from there. So...we'll see how that goes. My FAFSA was already sent to them I do believe, so hopefully there will be no holdup there.

No news on road trip, it may turn into a plane ride depending on Kevin's financial situation. Of course...then I would have to deal with bugging someone to drive me everywhere I wanted to go once I got there.

Boss is out of town today, already did a bunch of work. He called earlier and we were on the phone for like a half hour with him naming off people to call and having me read him his emails. I'm just glad I don't have to work over at his house today...it's to damn hot. I had to clean out his garage yesterday, take some things to the dumpster, some things to goodwill, God damn it was hot (Job-description: EVERYTHING). Let's see...probably will have to go over there tomorrow though.

Post-Update: A/C is not getting fixed, estimated $800 from the dealership...um...no.

Last 5 Years

The Last 5 Years was an extremely good show. I'm probably going to purchase the soundtrack in the near future. Um...that's about it.

Sherilyn's leaving for Texas tomorrow for two weeks. Another friend Ana (really cool Bosnian girl...well...Serbian) has gone to Florida for a while.

The Herman Awards are coming up on the 25th...so that'll be fun, we'll see if I win any of the three I'm nominated for.

Various Stuff

Just bought this, could be a useful thing while on the road eh?

Still waiting on the new car. Don't know when I'll actually be able to drive it around.

According to Kevin July 21st would be the best day for him to fly out here, and he would have to be back to work on the 26th. So...at the latest that would put us in Denver on the 25th. Of course, none of this is official yet. I'll let you know when it is.

Going to see The Last Five Years in Raleigh tonight, apparently it's a good musical...but I guess we'll see. My friend kind of bought me a ticket that I owe him money for now...without really verifying that I definitely could go *doh*

Friday...Payday...Good Day...at least...so far.

Even with leaving for the road trip, I could probably still establish a good part in Sound of Music if I do well in auditions. The first week would probably be music anyway...which I'm sure I could catch up on real quick.

Sherilyn
(background noise: Coldplay - Square One)

Well...yet another young girl, yet another "just friends" situation. Sherilyn and I decided that there was really no way we could date last Friday. I think that she is the type of person I can keep a really good friendship with though, and who knows...maybe when she gets older we can date. She really is an amazing girl, not to mention a great actress in the making. I'm getting her to make a copy of the school performance of Oz that she was in (and I was in for that matter, considering I became the over-under-study) so I can treasure it. I may say "yet another girl" but she is really special.

Speaking of Oz...copies that I made are being sent as I type. I sent off six copies this morning and I have five more to send tomorrow. Once again, if you want a copy just get an address to me and I'll arrange it. I haven't watched it, but I heard from Jamar (the Scarecrow) that the audio/video synch is kind of screwed up especially during his and my dances...which...would...suck. Stupid video people...this is why I wanted to tape it, and considering I spent $100 on a microphone to record it...and then couldn't.

The next season for Center Stage is set with The Sound of Music, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Death of a Salesman, and Music Man lined up as the main shows along with a dinner theatre show. With my current plans, I will be part of Sound of Music and Sleepy Hollow...I am definitely going to try for Ichabod Crane. Sound of Music I may end up being backstage help for, pending on what goes on around audition time/my road trip.

I've gotta clean up tonight, clean sheets, take out some garbage...but that's about it. My aunt and uncle come back tomorrow afternoon and I'm picking them up.

Road Trip

Trying to get a definite date for the beginning of the road trip with Kevin. Also, my year plan with US Cellular is about up, so I'm gonna see what I can do about getting a nationwide plan. They don't seem too bad...about the same price but giving up about 300 minutes per month...so I could pay a little more for more minutes...or just limit my calling to nights and weekends...which I basically do already. I don't think I've ever used all my minutes on this plan so far. I'd still have free local incoming calls...which is really, really useful. Probably would want a different phone though...a flip phone, so I don't keep accidentally calling people when it's in my pocket, don't care about camera and all the crap.

We get our DVD copies of The Wizard of Oz tonight, so if you want a copy, be sure to get in touch and give me an address to send it to. I have to purchase my ticket for the Herman Awards tonight as well...along with my $10 membership to Center Stage Theatre...I'll actually be an official member now. You can only join from July to August. They wanted to make me a member last September after auditions for The Homecoming...seemed like they actually had fights over letting me join at that time cause a few people really wanted me to be a member right then and there.

Me Likey

Came across this on engadget. No idea when it will be available to purchase...it's a very useful thing, as long as some programs support it. Photoshop would be fun with it. I should look into getting a graphics pad...but I have a feeling not until my tax return next year.

On a different note, it looks like Jim is leaving the office. He got a job offer in Raleigh for better pay, better benefits, he's closer to that office...seems like a good move to him. This will make me the only one in the office drinking coffee anymore, since Sherif seems to have stopped drinking it.

Sort of looking forward to going to Chapel Hill tomorrow, however not looking forward to driving alone. Staci wanted to go...however she's going to some birthday party thing...or something...no idea. My friendship with Staci is sort of odd, but she's good company and I wish she could have come along.

Hmmm?
(background noise: Coldplay - Speed of Sound)

I'm getting more serious about the road trip with Kevin to Denver and Moab in late July. I'm gonna start looking at specific dates sometime soon. Waiting for the replacement rear windshield on the Mercedes and then it will hopefully be ready (they ordered the wrong one at first). Right now I'm gonna start looking for someone who wants to take the road trip back from Moab/Denver and then for them to fly back (obviously someone from Denver would have the advantage that they actually have an airport near to where they live)...so I will start asking friends to see who would be interested...plus to pick out who I would be able to have a good time with on the way back.

Looks like I may end up going to East Carolina University...despite what I'd rather do. I don't really want to go there, but it's looking like the only option...of course it will allow me to continue some other things...so that's always a plus.

I've been in North Carolina nearly a year now...that hit me today at dinner.

Nearly 11 months since I left Moab, since I've seen Kassi, 9 months since I've talked to her, and other than a e-card for my birthday, and a recent email describing the need for me to NOT talk to her ever again...no words from her. It's been 6 months since I last saw Sarah, and we talk a little online...but not much. Coming up on a week not seeing or talking to Sherilyn...do we see a similarity here? It's been 6 months since I've seen any of my Utah and Colorado friends.

I'm going to Chapel Hill/Carboro on Saturday to a concert that my cousin, Jonathan is doing the sound for (he's going around with Portistatic who apparently is opening for Rilo Kiley for this performance...a band that Kevin had just mentioned earlier in the day). I may hang out with crazy Alyssa on Sunday, she wants me to come to a party on Tuesday...not exactly the best day of the week for that...not going...

Still taking care of my aunt's dogs, I'm not sure when they get back (speaking of I need to check on their water).
