San Francisco
(background music: Apocalyptica - Struggle)

I leave for San Francisco on Saturday, hopefully this won't be too stressful a trip and really be a good time like I really intended it to be. Unfortunately my parents are...against each other most of the time now instead of with each other, and against me...I guess I gave them reason to. I'm gonna start packing in a minute, just finishing up some cleaning and such.

My father said no computer today...but...oh well...just a short post and check the email.

Kassi and I can't see each other anymore, literally, my father doesn't want me to see her at all or even talk to her now. Of course her parents have been like that most of the time we've been dating, I just hope things are easier for Kassi with her parents once I leave...I make her happy, but at the same time I cause her parents to make her very unhappy because they put her through hell sometimes, I know they're looking after her, but...sometimes they do more damage. I hope to be able to go see a movie with her this Friday, just to be able to see each other and talk about things...calm everything down a little more...it's easier to talk about things in person and not on the phone, but I doubt she'll be able to go.

My Greyhound ticket to Denver and plane ticket to North Carolina have now been purchased. I am leaving Moab on July 14th and leaving Denver on July 18th. I guess none too soon, my father suggested leaving earlier...of course, he suggested that about 8 hours after I bought the plane ticket...little inconvenient.

It will be nice to see Sean, Lisa, Kevin, Zack, Jason, and hopefully Jefferson (need to call him when I get back from San Fran) while I'm in Denver, it'll be like a short version of the last month of the semester at Mesa. Makes me realise that I didn't have many female friends at Mesa (no wonder I was depressed eh?), Lisa...basically my sister outside of the family...Kate, Traci, Jessica...that's about it, and I only hung out with Lisa.

Well I'm off, not sure if I'll make another post before I go to San Francisco, or during the trip...definately when I get back though. I'm looking forward to seeing my real sister and her husband for the first time in 6 years and seeing my birthplace for the first time in 14. I must get some good Indian and Chinese food while I'm there...

New Mini-Poll (of course)...hope you enjoy.

This Day in History
On this day in:

1775 - The United States Army was founded. (great...)

1777 -The Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the U.S. (Hence...flag day, duh)

1922 - Warren Harding became the first president to be heard on the radio. (cool!)

1951 - The first commercial computer, Univac I, was unveiled. (yay!)

1954 - President Eisenhower signed the order inserting the words "under God" into the Pledge of Allegiance. (bastard...I mean...hmmm...)

(background music: Apocalyptica - Path)

I am more than half-way through The Fountainhead now...and am bored out of my mind. It seems to draw on and on...bringing in the childhood of a new character. The reason I enjoyed the book so much at first was because it was following Roark, the "main" character, if I can call him that anymore. So many different characters are being followed as if they were the main character, which is amazing detail, only the characters are no where near as interesting as Roark. I find myself skipping 10 pages at a time now to get on with it...which is very sad.

Kassi's mother is now to the point of picking up when I'm we're having a conversation on the phone. She denies it of course...but it's kind of simple to hear someone picking up the phone...the first time I thought it was my mother at the shop picking up to call someone and that she would hang right up...but there was never a second click. Until Kassi hung up...I stayed on after curiosity and there was the second click. Happened again today, even more obvious...unbelievable...plus I don't see how she doesn't KNOW that we KNOW she's listening so we wouldn't talk about anything incriminating anyway...lol. Then of course there are the threats that Kassi's father tells her that if he ever is in the same room as me he's either going to tell me off or punch me in the face (or more). Honestly I wouldn't be worried about it, even if he did try...I'm sadly much more intelligent then him...and for some reason I am not afraid of him physically whatsoever.

Junction Trip and New Plans

I went to Junction with Ben today, dropped him off so he could pick up his mother's car. We went to Chinese of course, Petsmart for my cats, the mall, dropped by the housing office so I could cancel my reserved single room. After I dropped him off I looked around for a table for our shop, didn't find anything unfortunately.

I thought about going to The Chronicles of Riddick while I was in the mall...since the matinee was starting right then...but decided I didn't want to go alone. I dropped by JC Penny, they were having a big sale, so I got a bunch of pants that were usually $40 for $6.77 pluse a few shirts (I needed pants...so it worked out very well).

Drove home...wore my voice out singing in my car.

Sat around the house hoping to do something with Kassi...which turned into sitting around the house and not doing anything with Kassi.

So anyway...this is what is the plan for North Carolina so far. On July 14th (Wednesday) I am going to either take the train or bus (depending which is available on that day...train preferrably) to Denver from Grand Junction. I am staying at Zack's house until Sunday morning when I will leave on the plane for Raleigh, NC. I may stay one or two nights at Jason (Irons)'s house so I don't drive Zack or his parents crazy. Try and stay Saturday night at whoever's house is closer to the airport so that's easier.

Well I'm off to bed...oooh...fourth season of Six Feet Under starts Sunday...mmm...

New Changes
(background music: Peter Gabriel - Shock the Monkey)

I've changed around the colors on my blog a bit (as you can hopefully tell). New logo, refined some things. Added a new link to Asian Cinema Forum for any of your Asian movie needs.

I removed my Hot or Not rating from the site...why you ask? Well since joining bangme.net, I find Hot or Not pointless...you can contact people on BangMe without having to pay, and you can see really in depth profiles about people instead of just the picture, some keywords, and "I like fun" on Hot or Not.

I went to the Desert Bistro tonight, the most expensive restaurant in Moab I do believe (well...I haven't been to the Center Cafe since they moved out of the building that the Bistro is in now). It was decent, a nice place to take people who want something fancy...something to impress them. However I'd much rather take my mother's mashed potatoes and buffalo tenderloin compared to theirs.

Soon I'm going to purchase a plane ticket for North Carolina. I'm looking at leaving from Denver on July 11th or 18th...and a few days before the day I pick I'm gonna buy a train ticket and go to Denver and see a few college buddies before I go...want to see them really bad...always miss not having them no more than four doors or two floors away.

Going to Junction on Friday with Ben...basic trip, keep my eye out for a few things my parents need. Grab some $1.15 scoop Chinese food...God it's good.

A few good phrases for the road:

Just because I'm a hippie doesn't mean you can screw me.

Rhinoceruses don't play games. They f*cking charge your ass

Poll
(background music: Satoshi Tomie - Shiro Sagisu Et [Casshern Soundtrack])

Well it looks like the poll is even at the moment with 3 for both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Fahrenheit 9/11...so we have some good film critics and some liberals in my blog audience...lol...

I'm going to be in San Francisco when Fahrenheit 9/11 comes out so I'll actually be able to see it in theaters...unlike in Moab.

I'm going to have to change my answer on my Internet Browser poll...I have recently become addicted to Opera...and no Ben, not because it's good for porn...but because the interface and customizable features are great...the only problem I've seen with it is it doesn't have ActiveX support, so I can't check my Gmail account through it yet, and it sometimes has problems with remembering my password on one site...but other than that it's a very interesting program. Built in pop-up blocker, google search, amazon search, dictionary search, ebay search...bunches and bunches...I just customized the hell out of my toolbars. Check it out. They have it for PC and Mac.

This song I'm listening to is pretty good. From the Casshern soundtrack...I want to see the movie very badly...it just came out in theaters in Japan. Go check out the trailer at www.casshern.com

Did you ever see Lucy before her reign in I Love Lucy...she was a FOX! I saw her in a Three Stooges sketch where she was one of the three...lucky...women to be interested in those stooges. She looked amazing...

Iraq
(background music: Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto)

I just learned that the number or US troops killed in Iraq is now at 825...eek...

I'm just wondering what the Iraqi citizen death count is at.

Or how many other non-military deaths like the many contractors that have been kidnapped over the last few months, or Japanese citizens...what else was there...I don't remember.

Now Butter Your Bacon

A few questions:

Why does bacon taste so good?

Why is George Bush such an idiot?

While on the subject, Bush is being investigated in the leak of a top secret CIA agent's name. It just gets worse and worse. He's obtaining lawyers to defend himself as well.

Some more questions:

Can anyone give me a reason why Bush should be president again? (without badmouthing Kerry, we all know he's not great either...but we're talking about George here)

What is the difference between organic and un-organic eggs that make organic eggs taste so much better?

Why do girls like the movie A Walk to Remember?

Does anyone know the premise of the beliefs of the Amish? (I just watched Witness...made me wonder)

Hmm...so yeah, if you have any answers do the above questions, please let me know.

North Carolina

I'm trying to make plans for my move to North Carolina. I am trying to leave from Denver instead of Salt Lake City because then I can see a few friends I made at Mesa at least one last time before I leave. The bus ride to Denver from Green river would be around 7 hours though. The price for a ticket on the greyhound and a shuttle to Salt Lake are the same though...so I'm thinking Denver is a better idea.

My Grandmother says she has a room idea for me and is pushing two twin beds together with a joiner to make a king (although I'm used to a twin with my legs hanging off). So it looks like I'll be staying with them.

I need to sell my car before I leave. It'll give me some money to start out with in NC, or the opportunity to purchase my own while I'm there, or if I have a car to use there then I can pay off my student loan now and not later. Problem is, not sure how to go about selling my car. I'll put an ad in the advertiser of course, but that will doubtfully hold its water.

Change of subject, I'd like to see Troy before it's gone on Friday, unfortunately I don't have any money...not really at least, and no one to go with either. Since you know those Mormons hate that graphic violence and some sexuality/nudity, or on another note the entire premise of American Beauty, which is LIFE god dammit, experience and learning, an amazing telling of something truly beautiful...we wouldn't want our children to see that would we? (ugh...). No...we'll just send our children to pointless entertainment such as Raising Helen, or Mean Girls, or 13 Going On 30...or some stupid shallow and empty crap like that.

So Anyway...still working on movie reviews, the MOAL site...etc...

p.s. The Blogger Spell Check doesn't recognize the word Mormon, the abbreviation "etc," or Blog for that matter. So...looks like Mormons, Blogs, etc...don't exist.

The MOAL

I'm working on getting the MOAL site back up and running. Go check it out, have some "new" pictures from the original MOAL as well. Hopefully I can really have the site up and running and document any LAN party I go to, no matter how small.

Working HTML

I am currently working on writting some movie reviews on my "movie ratings" page in case any of you actually care what I think of the movie besides just my star rating of them.

Working on some new code for it as well...once I have 5 or 6 reviews written I'll upload everything and let you know. Hope you enjoy it when I get them done.
