Books
I am going to buy two of the following three books and see what happens.
I have become quite interested in kendo, among other martial arts and swordsmanship, because of Sean (who has actually gotten me quite obsessed...not just interested). So with these, along with a bokken, I hope to accomplish something.
Flashing Steel: Mastering Eishin-Ryu Swordsmanship by Masayuki Shimabukuro, Shihan M. Shimabukuro, Leonard Pellman
Complete Kendo by John J. Donohue
Practice Drills for Japanese Swordsmanship: Iaido by Nicklaus Suino

New Movie News (background music: JET - Cold Hard Bitch)
The Day After Tomorrow was an extremely good movie. Acting, emotion, effects, storyline, plot...everything worked well with the other. This is not just a storyless action/disaster movie. The Vice-President in this movie is the most frustrating thing...gah...if you see it you'll understand.
I'm not sure how to describe this movie, and the disasters happening in the film do not seem that far off and are very believable (which is probably why it's causing such a contreversy involving global warming). I hope many of you will attend this film and enjoy it as much as I did.
Since I'm not on my computer (*pout pout cry cry*) I haven't been able to put up a poster on my sidebar...

Post-Graduation
Graduation was very nice, there were six valedictorians this year. I sat in the grass with Kassi the whole time, decided not to take out my camera. Out of the valedictorian speeches I must say that Sarah and Sally had the most presence. Sarah spoke clearly and made herself be heard, unlike the speeches before where they mostly almost mumbled and seemed to have put no effort into writing or presenting their speech. Sally has always had a very womanly voice that puts her above the rest and of course catches the attention of anyone within hearing range (and if you can get her to laugh correctly it's quite amusing as well). Hers was the last speech but should have been first so maybe the others would learn something about speaking.
One thing, I have to say it was odd sitting with my girlfriend in the grass and looking up to see three girls, in whom I had pretty deep interests in the past, up there as valedictorians, two of them being ex-girlfriends.
I went to the graduation party at the bowling alley for a while, played some air hockey then mostly sat and talked to Kassi since we couldn't go anywhere. I slowly started to feel very tired and left after Kassi's mom picked her up (who I think was sitting out in the parking lot making sure we didn't run to my car or something).
Lewis Black was on HBO when I got home...hee hee...love that guy. Then watched the Daily Show, which had a segment with Lewis Black on it as well.
p.s. *boing*s to Sally for graduation

Graduation
Graduation for the class of 2004 at Grand County High School is tonight. I'm going, gonna grab my camera. Try and see a few friends, it's amazing that they're graduating, they all seemed so young. Now I see how people one or two years older than me were always excited or surpised about me graduating.

Now an Adult (background music: The Von Bondies - Crawl Though the Darkness)
I got a letter for jury duty today. Very odd...I "have" to respond to a few questions to see if I am eligible.

Navajo
Well I went to the Navajo reservation (Navajo Nation) in Arizona yesterday. A nice 4 hour drive. We only stayed for the first part of the ceremony, but it was pretty interesting. They made five hoops out of willow and other trees and had the old man walk through them all followed by everyone else (including myself). Between each hoop was a sand painting representing the four sacred mountains and a fifth representing all of them combined. We sprinkled corn seed each time we were going to pass through a hoop. They then washed the old man with yucca and water and passed herb tea around.
We left after eating with them because it was another 5 hours until the last part of the ceremony and we wouldn't have had another opportunity to leave until at least midnight (we didn't really want to be getting back into town at 4 a.m.). What I saw was really amazing though and I got to meet two medicine men and a 105 year old Navajo who owns most, if not all, the land in Navajo Nation.

Allo
Apparently I'm going to the Navajo Reservation with my father tomorrow. They are doing a very rare ceremony for the oldest person there, he's 105. It should be quite the experience. They usually don't allow cameras; however, they trust my dad to document the ceremony for himself and for their archives...so I get to bring along my DV camcorder.
And...a new minipoll of course.

A few Random thoughts (background music: The Von Bondies - Been Swank)
Can't wait to go to San Fran next month...looks like getting a house with Kevin and Asher is falling through cause Asher had to back out and I don't think Kevin and I could really survive together alone. So it looks like I'm gonna try to make it out to North Carolina in July...if it doesn't work out, I can always come back here. Soon I may try to really expand doing some artwork, something outside of the computer, don't really have any money for supplies though. As soon as I get out to NC I have to really look for a decent job so I can pay off my student loan for this year before it starts accumulating interest.
I guess I usually don't write about these things on here but I'm really gonna miss Kassi when I go, but I have to go. I can't really live here anymore, and with her parents being how they are there's low chances of keeping a good relationship going. They think I am the worst influence on her, but honestly I've helped her through a lot of things and am a better influence on her than any adult I know she comes in contact with. Pisses me off sometimes, they're not such good influences on her themselves, or at least good examples in decision making, young life, or parents for that matter. They also seem to be getting more bitchy each day. So I'm going to try to enjoy my last month or so with her as much as possible...or as much as her parents will allow rather.
This band, The Von Bondies is kind of interesting, their single is really repetitive ("C'mon C'mon"), but a lot of their other songs are pretty cool. It's an interesting combination for group too; male singer, women guitarists who are also the back up voices and sing at least one of their songs too, and an Asian male drummer. The singer has a really great style and they have a good look and beat...but the need to be a little bit more creative. Course most newer groups are probably afraid to be too creative cause people might stop liking them. Maybe we'll actually have some good music coming out again in the next few years, another flashback to the 60s like we had a few years ago with The Hives and The Vines and Trail of Dead...etc...

Comments
Sometime soon I think I'm gonna be changing over to Blogger's offered comment service. This means all the previous comments I have on the blog may go away. I just want to see what blogger's comment service is like, and if it is any better I'll stick with them and maybe recreate the comments I have from the saved versions I have at haloscan.
Don't have anymore invites on gmail...they're all gone (probably cause I'm selfish and set up one more account for myself). Hope you guys out there that started one earlier will invite a few more people.
Boring post I know, I'm working on a new wallpaper...but of course it's on MY computer, not this one (my father's). I'm trying to figure out what's going on for me next year. I have a feeling the house with Kevin and Asher isn't gonna work out. I probably am going to San Francisco next month for my sister's birthday. Plus I would get to see the house I was born in, the Japanese Tea Garden, and the arboretum. After that I could go to North Carolina, which is looking like a better and better idea again.
Post Update: Nevermind...no different comments, I like the format of Haloscan's much more anyway.

Gmail (background music: Nobuo Uematsu - One-Winged Angel)
I've been checking out Google's new email service, Gmail, and have been pretty impressed. It has a nice, new, and different interface and of course that 1000 MB of space, and anyone using Yahoo or Hotmail should know that's something (you only get 2 MB with Hotmail and 4 MB with Yahoo). You can also send 10 MB attachments which is useful if you want to send someone a few photos or even a song or two. It's still in beta, it was first offered to Blogger users and now current beta testers can invite others into the service. So, if you'd like to try it out just leave a comment and an email address and I'll be sure to send you an invitation to use it before the service really goes public (another advantage to this is the possibility or grabbing that user name you want before it goes quickly). I only have one or two invitations left so I plan on using them well.

Home...ish (background music: And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Another Morning Stoner)
Well I am back in Moab, I haven't been able to post for the past couple days cause I've been mostly in bed. Got pretty horribly sick right before I left the college. Had to drive back to :( stopped three times for a nap and once to throw up...all very unpleasant.
I'm still not sure what's going on this summer. I'm either stuck here in Moab working for my parents or I'm gonna be in Granby or Grand Lake working on my own. I'm also still not sure which one I want yet. I don't know if I want to leave Kassi here yet, she doesn't want me to go of course...well...she wants me to do what I want, that's why I love her. She's not trying to keep me here or anything, it's up to me. If I can arrange the job and house in Colorado, I probably will end up moving.
Working for my parents a bit since I've been better, well...I didn't exactly have much choice. My father woke me up at 7:30 yesterday and yelled at me, threatening to kick me out of the house if I didn't come work. The entire time I was thinking "why can't this wait another week or two when I've decided what I'm going to do this summer and have a little bit more planned."
Well, I shall post more once I have my own computer connected to the net. Probably another wallpaper or two...etc...

(background music: Story of the Year - Until the Day I Die)
I just packed up some more of my dorm room...took down all my posters. Makes me sad, the walls are all bare again. No Israeli and Palestinian flags...no samurai swords, no familiar anime, all that's left are a few pictures. Packed some clothes, not looking forward to disassembling my computer and stereo...or my entire desk for that matter.
Oh, new minipoll for you gamers out there

Yay! (background music: Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity)
Well I'm back, had a great weekend...great great weekend (for various reasons). Went to Moab with Kevin, Zack, and Sean, got to see Kassi, went on a hike, out to dinner, etc...so fun. Have my car (with a week left of the semester) so I can pack up things. Hoping that the plan for getting a house with Kevin and Asher in Grand Lake works out. I have the option of going to stay with Asher after I'm out of school instead of living with my parents until him and Kev find the house. I'm probably gonna at least stay with my parents for a week though, do a couple odd-jobs for them, say goodbye to Kassi and my friends.
A few pictures from our trip
